Why are humans so uniquely annoying?
conversation with Kerry Hyde, 2024:
My theory is that humans have too much power and that's why they're more annoying than other animals
It's the being quiet!!! You know how you just kind of still yourself with most people, so you can listen to them better? That's what I'm learning to do with humans that I think is upping my skills with them. It's much harder because they're much noisier.
I think let's combine those two analyses. Because an overexcited puppy is noisy but still less annoying?
It's something about how the human ones have expectations about how you're meant to respond to the noises they make (even if what they expect isn't what they want)
